Accountant – American International School of Egypt (West Campus)

Description:

The American International School of Egypt – West Campus (AIS West), established in 2009 in Sheikh Zayed City, serves over 1,600 students from KG1 to Grade 12. It is an IB World School offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program alongside American High School courses, fully accredited by MSA and the Egyptian Ministry of Education.

About the Role:

AIS West is seeking an Accountant for a full-time, on-site position. Candidates with at least 2 years of experience or exceptional fresh graduates with strong attention to detail and organizational skills are encouraged to apply.

Job Description:

  • Following up on Treasury operations, including petty cash, purchasing, cashing checks from the bank, Worker Funds, and postdated checks
  • Preparing required journal entries and posting them to the system
  • Following up on student payments through the system
  • Following up on Credit Card payments
  • Preparing Form No. 4 for withholding taxes
  • Following up on supplier invoices and ensuring timely payments
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliation statements
  • Assisting in the month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Preparing general ledger account reconciliations
  • Coordinating with HR, Purchasing, Student Affairs, and Educational offices on financial matters
  • Ensuring accurate data entry into system applications
  • Maintaining organized financial records and supporting audit requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the Faculty of Commerce – Accounting Section
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience OR a motivated fresh graduate with a strong academic background
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Solid foundational understanding of accounting principles (financial analysis and budget management skills are a plus, but training will be provided)
  • Excellent data entry skills with strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience in educational institutions is preferred
