Job Summary
The American International School in Egypt – West Campus is hiring an energetic and adaptable Physical Education Teacher for a short-term assignment to provide coverage for a maternity leave lasting 2.5 to 3 months. The ideal candidate will step in to lead engaging, developmentally appropriate PE classes, promote physical literacy, and ensure a safe, inclusive environment for all students.

Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging physical education lessons for students across PreK to Grade 12, adapting activities to suit varying ages and abilities.
- Promote physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and positive attitudes toward exercise and sportsmanship.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that are aligned with both American and IB educational standards.
- Organize and supervise extracurricular sports teams, tournaments, and school-wide athletic events.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages student participation and personal growth.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and individualized support.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support students’ overall well-being and academic success.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and health-related incidents.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
Must Have
- Experience Needed: Minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching experience in physical education, preferably in an international school.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement engaging PE lessons for diverse student populations.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
- Experience organizing and coaching extracurricular sports or athletic programs.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with varying physical abilities.
- Proficiency in assessing student performance and providing actionable feedback.
- Willingness to participate in school events, meetings, and professional development.
